Imagine if these censors thought they had the right to excise actual quotes from public figures, say, something the prime minister has said publicly because they didn’t like the way the quotes were used in a story." Ruchir Joshi, on why it's obscene that documentary film-makers should have to apply for a Censor's Certificate before they can screen their films. This rule applies to Indian documentary film-makers, not foreign. Of course, in what is no doubt a string of coincidences, the films that have run up against this rule have been films about Hindutva and other controversial, anti-national issues.
