Getcha resistance buttons here

This made me feel just a shade better about Bush winning the elections. Arundhati Roy has already said that who won the election was a matter of indifference to her--it's just a question of who gets to be the next commander-in-chief of the Empire we call the States. And she's suggesting a civil disobedience movement against the new economic colonisers.
I know many in India can't stand Saint Arundhati. Might this review by Lachlan Malloch change your mind?
"..Her sense of humour and alertness to the absurd rescue some of our sanity, by helping us laugh at an insane world.
In another way still she recalls a little of the old Italian man in Catch 22 during the Second World War. He pities the US empire because he’s calmly confident that humanity will endure, outlasting an empire whose internal contradictions and greedy overreach will eventually see its power drain away."

Update: The text of her speech is here. Ignore the first five infuriatingly arch paragraphs--"My sources inform me that Dr Ashrawi had a picket all to herself. This is discriminatory....May I formally request the Foundation to organize a picket against me after the lecture?"--and the mandatory "who, little old me?" bits. The good stuff's down below:
"So Iraq has been 'liberated.' Its people have been subjugated and its markets have been 'freed'. That's the anthem of neo-liberalism. Free the markets. Screw the people."

How many more excuses will these overt baby makers make in countries like India. It's always the fault of "imperalists" for everything. Now supposedly the US are "Economic imperialists". get over it.

Fascinating. What's an overt baby maker?
Come to think of it, what's a covert baby maker?
