Fat Man Walking
Marlon Brando's autobiographical novel about a fat man who falls in love with a lady pirate is coming out, and something tells me I'll never watch Streetcar with quite the same degree of yearning lust again.
From The Telegraph:
Like the novel's hero, Brando was grotesquely fat, weighing more than 20st when he died in Los Angeles, and was fascinated by Asian women and the East.
After filming Mutiny on the Bounty in Tahiti in 1963, he bought a South Sea island, Tetiaroa. His second wife, Movita Casteneda, was Tahitian and his third, Tarita Teriipaia, was a Chinese-Polynesian dancer.
Even the sexually ambivalent nature of the hero, Annie Doultry, reflects Brando's predilections.
