It's pretty clear now that Norma Khouri wrote fiction, not fact, or to put it less kindly, was lying her head off to everyone from her publishers to readers to women's rights groups to, well, fill in the blanks. Random House said: "We apologise to booksellers and readers who purchased Forbidden Love believing it was a true story".
The truth is out there. Way out there. I'm still wondering what made her do it (let me see now--money, fame, respect--oh, okay, that would work), and whether she actually believed any of her lies.
Expect lawsuits: hers, which isn't exactly making Malcolm Knox sweat and theirs.
